Basketball Recap: Hemphill Takes a Loss

Hemphill lost against Broaddus two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hemphill Hornets came up short against the Broaddus Bulldogs, falling 59-33. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Broaddus' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Colton Modisette led the charge by going 7 for 17 on his way to 18 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kingston Sanders, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Hemphill's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Broaddus, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Hemphill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 54-43 victory against Martinsville on the 7th. As for Broaddus, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-39 win against West Sabine on the 7th.
