Luxemburg-Casco suffers fifth straight loss at home

Recap: Luxemburg-Casco Spartans vs. Oconto Falls Panthers
The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 11th straight loss. They took a 51-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oconto Falls. Luxemburg-Casco was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Oconto Falls apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Oconto Falls' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alex Haines led the charge by scoring 16 points. Another player making a difference was Emerich Skarban, who scored seven points along with five steals.
Luxemburg-Casco's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-11. As for Oconto Falls, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-11.
Luxemburg-Casco will head out on the road to square off against Clintonville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clintonville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Luxemburg-Casco in Wisconsin (Clintonville is ranked 62nd, while Luxemburg-Casco is ranked 368th). As for Oconto Falls, they will be playing at home against Fox Valley Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fox Valley Lutheran knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 matchups -- so hopefully Oconto Falls likes a good challenge.
