Basketball Game Preview: West Valley Wolf Pack vs. Eagle River Wolves

The West Valley Wolf Pack will take on the Eagle River Wolves at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eagle River took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on West Valley, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, West Valley got the win against North Pole by a conclusive 80-59. The Wolf Pack have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Eagle River took a blow against West Anchorage on Tuesday, falling 79-50. The Wolves haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

West Valley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.2 points per game. As for Eagle River, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything came up roses for West Valley against Eagle River in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, as the team secured a 64-21 victory. Will West Valley repeat their success, or does Eagle River have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
