Soccer Game Preview: Linden vs. Calaveras

The Linden Lions will take on the Calaveras Red Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Linden is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.9 goals per game this season.

Last Wednesday, everything went Linden's way against Big Valley Christian as Linden made off with a 16-1 win. It was an even better day for Xavier Flores as he scored four goals for his team.

Meanwhile, Calaveras was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Summerville, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, the Red Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1012th, while the Bears are ranked 331st).

Linden is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those four matches. As for Calaveras, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9-2.
