Baseball Recap: Lewis County Panthers vs. Summertown Eagles

Summertown typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Lewis County proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Eagles 8-2. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Brayden Whitlow made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Whitlow was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Steele Moseley was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Tanner, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one double.

Lewis County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Summertown only posted a batting average of .130.

Lewis County pushed their record up to 17-13 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Summertown, their loss dropped their record down to 21-10.

As of now, neither Lewis County nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
