Waterloo has gone 9-1 against Newark recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Waterloo Tigers will be playing at home against the Newark Reds at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Monday, Waterloo got the win against Wayne by a conclusive 50-27. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Newark had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 49-39. Given the Reds' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while the Mustangs are ranked 315th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Newark has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Waterloo, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Waterloo won a game that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in December of 2024, slipping by Newark 60-59. Does Waterloo have another victory up their sleeve, or will Newark turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
