Eldorado (Texas) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 45-18 win over
Menard (Texas).
The Eagles put up 12 points in the opening frame. Eldorado scored on a
Jose Guerra touchdown run and a touchdown run.
After taking the lead on a Guerra touchdown run in the first quarter, EHS was up 31-0 at the half.
The Eagles expanded their lead to 39 points entering the fourth quarter. Eldorado scored two times in the third, including once on a rushing touchdown.
The victory was a step in the right direction for EHS, which was coming off a 30-0 defeat at the hands of Christoval in its previous game.
Eldorado (3-4) goes up against Miles in a 1A-2 Region II District 6 game matchup next week, while Menard (3-3) locks horns with Irion County also in a 1A-2 Region II District 6 game.
