Basketball Game Preview: Millers Creek Christian Lions vs. Cornerstone Christian Academy Crusaders

The Millers Creek Christian Lions will head out on the road to square off against the Cornerstone Christian Academy Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Millers Creek Christian will be strutting in after a win while Cornerstone Christian Academy will be coming in after a loss.

Last Tuesday, Millers Creek Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Heritage Christian, but they still walked away with a 38-34 victory.

Millers Creek Christian found their leader in freshman Julian Houpe, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Carter Ward, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Cornerstone Christian Academy came up short against Rockwell Christian School on Friday and fell 51-39.

Millers Creek Christian will need focus on slowing down Davin Fuller, one of several Cornerstone Christian Academy players who made an impact when they last played. He dropped a double-double on 15 rebounds and 11 blocks. Fuller is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Farthing, who had ten points and seven rebounds.

The win got Millers Creek Christian back to even at 9-9. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, their defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

Millers Creek Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Cornerstone Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, winning 41-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Millers Creek Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
