Basketball Recap: McCurtain Comes Up Short

McCurtain entered their game against Smithville on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The McCurtain Bulldogs had to suffer through a 78-44 loss at the hands of the Smithville Braves. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Braves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

McCurtain's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-5. As for Smithville, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

McCurtain wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 52-49 loss against Canadian on the 13th. As for Smithville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 43-35 win against Keota on the 13th.
