Baseball Recap: Lafayette County's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Lafayette County can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They walked away with a 10-5 win over the Blevins Hornets. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-3 back in March.

Lafayette County let Trey Knighton and TJ Johnson run wild. Knighton went a perfect 3-for-3 with six stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Johnson went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one triple. Knighton is becoming a predictor of Lafayette County's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 0-7 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Wyatt Driggers, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-8. As for Blevins, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lafayette County will take on Bradley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Blevins, they will square off against Nevada at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
