Basketball Preview: Greene County Tigers vs. Towns County Indians
Greene County is 2-7 against the Indians since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Greene County Tigers are on the road again and plays the Towns County Indians at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Friday, Greene County was beaten by the Titans 62-32.
Towns County has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 52-51 to Warren County.
Greene County's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-10. As for Towns County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season.
Greene County beat the Indians 67-55 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Greene County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
