Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Taylor Dawson and Carlie Kleinschmit Lead Wausa to Victory

Wausa's game on Tuesday was all tied up 22-22 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They took down the Creighton Bulldogs 49-32. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Vikings also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Wausa was led to victory by Carlie Kleinschmit and Taylor Dawson. Kleinschmit dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Dawson posted 11 points and six steals. Dawson has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Barta, who had six points and nine rebounds.

Wausa now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Creighton, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Wausa will be playing in front of their home fans against Elgin/Pope John at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Creighton, they will head out on the road to square off against Neligh-Oakdale on Friday.
