Basketball Recap: Hyrum Ripa's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Victoria Cobra Homeschool over Varsity Opponent

Victoria Cobra HomeSchool suffered their biggest defeat since November 23, 2024 on Thursday. They came up short against Varsity Opponent, falling 77-56. Sadly, that's the seventh time they've come up short against the Cobra this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-39 back in December of 2024.

Victoria Cobra HomeSchool lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Hyrum Ripa, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Ripa has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jacob Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards.

Victoria Cobra HomeSchool's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-14.

Victoria Cobra HomeSchool wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 62-50 defeat against Austin Royals HomeSchool on the 17th. Varsity Opponent has also already played their next contest (against Hillel Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
