Soccer Recap: Grand Junction Central Takes a Loss

Grand Junction Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Durango Demons. The matchup was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Grand Junction Central couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Christian Haynes, who's now up to three this season.

Grand Junction Central's loss dropped their record down to 2-9-1. As for Durango, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.

Coincidentally, Grand Junction Central and Durango will both be playing Grand Junction the next time they take the pitch. The Demons will head out to face the Tigers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Warriors will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
