Basketball Game Preview: Riverside Pirates vs. Fairlawn Jets

Riverside is on a three-game streak of home losses, Fairlawn a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Saturday. The two teams will face off at 7:30 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Riverside came up short against Troy Christian and fell 71-61.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 63-33, which was the final score in Fairlawn's tilt against Botkins on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Jets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 684th, while the Trojans are ranked 161st).

Fairlawn's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Riverside, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.

Riverside didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Fairlawn in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 64-60 win.
