Basketball Game Recap: Holland Patent Golden Knights vs. Central Valley Academy Thunder

After flying high against the Adirondack Wildcats on Tuesday, the Holland Patent Golden Knights came back down to earth. Holland Patent opened the new year with a less-than-successful 60-56 defeat to they on Friday. They have not had much luck with Central Valley Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Central Valley Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Deacon Judd out in front who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 20 rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Judd has scored at least 25% of Central Valley Academy's points. Will Luke was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with five rebounds.

Holland Patent's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Central Valley Academy, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.

Holland Patent will head out on the road to face off against Oneida at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oneida has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Central Valley Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Whitesboro at 1:00 p.m. on January 7th. Whitesboro is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
