Baseball Recap: Millburn's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Millburn lost against St. Mary back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Millers fell just short of the Gaels by a score of 8-6. The loss put an end to the Millers' undefeated start to the season.

Manal Jha was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in hits (zero).

At the plate, Quinn Conn was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Peter Lawrence, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Having lost for the first time this season, Millburn fell to 2-1. As for St. Mary, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Millburn will head out to face off against Seton Hall Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Mary, they will be playing at home against Rutherford at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Gaels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
