Basketball Game Preview: Madison Central Jaguars vs. Tupelo Golden Wave

The Madison Central Jaguars will venture away from home to face off against the Tupelo Golden Wave at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Madison Central is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Neshoba Central just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 52-49. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Jaguars came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Rockets are ranked 78th).

Meanwhile, Tupelo waltzed into their contest on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Tigers 70-44. That 26 point margin sets a new team best for the Golden Wave this season.

Tupelo's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Madison Central, their defeat ended a 13-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-2.

Madison Central was able to grind out a solid win over Tupelo in their previous meeting back in January, winning 56-46. Will Madison Central repeat their success, or does Tupelo have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
