 The McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars lost  13-3 to the Hanson Beavers on Thursday.
 For Hanson's part,  Olivia Kayser made a big impact no matter where she played. She  struck out 11 batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   one  hit. Kayser has been consistent recently: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in four consecutive pitching appearances. Kayser was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in two of her three plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Jacey Schoenrock was  incredible,  going 3-for-3 with five  RBI, a  triple,  and a  run.  Paige Endorf was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances.
 McCook Central/Montrose dropped their record down to 1-6 with that  defeat, which was their third straight  on the road. As for Hanson, the  win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.
 McCook Central/Montrose will be playing in front of their home fans against Viborg/Hurley at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. McCook Central/Montrose is facing Viborg/Hurley at the right time seeing as Viborg/Hurley is stuck on  a  nine-game losing streak. As for Hanson, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Scotland/Menno at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
