Basketball Recap: Sterling Victorious

While Sterling has struggled at home with four straight losses, that wasn't the case on Saturday thanks to Destiny Lewis. The Sterling Raiders were the clear victor by a 51-26 margin over the Milby Buffs thanks in part to Lewis, who went 12 for 19 on her way to 25 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. That makes it nine consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Sterling's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Morrow, who posted four points along with nine boards and three blocks. Morrow is crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Sterling's record is now 6-9. As for Milby, they dropped their record down to 4-13 with the loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Sterling will take on Buna in a tournament on Thursday. Milby and Houston Math Science & Tech will compete for holiday cheer at 11:30 a.m. on Monday.
