Softball Recap: Chuckey-Doak Black Knights vs. Hampton Bulldogs
It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Chuckey-Doak ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They walked away with a 12-7 victory over the Hampton Bulldogs. The Black Knights haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Paylin Shelton was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayleigh Seidl, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Chuckey-Doak was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are 4-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Chuckey-Doak's record is now 6-12. As for Hampton, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.
Coming up, Chuckey-Doak will challenge Greeneville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hampton, they will venture away from home to face off against University School at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Buccaneers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.44 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
