Basketball Recap: Station Camp Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

While it was all tied up 23-23 at halftime, Station Camp was not quite Hume-Fogg's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They lost to the Hume-Fogg Blue Knights at home by a 65-49 margin. While losing is never fun, the Bison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Blue Knights are ranked 31st).

When it comes to explaining why Station Camp lost, don't look at Ty Thurston. Despite the final result, he went 11 for 22 on his way to 23 points and three steals. With that strong performance, Thurston is now averaging an impressive 16 points per game. Seth Bailey was another key player, putting up six points and five blocks.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hume-Fogg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alonzo Rhodes, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 boards. Those 16 rebounds gave Rhodes a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Rucker, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 16 points along with six boards and three steals.

Station Camp's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3. As for Hume-Fogg, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Station Camp will host Riverdale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Station Camp is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57 points per game this season. As for Hume-Fogg, they will head out to square off against McGavock at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
