Basketball Recap: Roosevelt Skates Past Brooklyn Center with Ease

Roosevelt's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They claimed a resounding 57-17 victory over the Brooklyn Center Centaurs. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Teddies considering their 19-point performance the contest before.

Jae Lang was a one-woman wrecking crew for Roosevelt as she went 6 for 15 on her way to 15 points in addition to six assists and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sha?Sariah Works, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Lang wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Roosevelt was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Roosevelt pushed their record up to 4-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Brooklyn Center, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Coincidentally, Roosevelt and Brooklyn Center will both be playing Higher Ground Academy the next time they take the court. Roosevelt will host Higher Ground Academy at 12:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025, while Brooklyn Center will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
