Volleyball Recap: Cecilia Takes a Loss

Cecilia came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Teurlings Catholic Rebels, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered since October 1st.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-15, 25-8.

Teurlings Catholic's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carsyn Fontenot, who had 17 digs. Fontenot is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 16 or more in each of the last six games she's played. Kate Trahan was another key player, getting eight digs and two aces.

Cecilia's loss dropped their record down to 6-20. As for Teurlings Catholic, they pushed their record up to 18-8 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Cecilia will venture away from home to challenge Westgate at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Teurlings Catholic, they will welcome Parkview Baptist at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
