Football Game Preview: Gunnison Cowboys vs. Salida Spartans + How To Watch

The Gunnison Cowboys will head out on the road to take on the Salida Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gunnison will be strutting in after a win while Salida will be coming in after a loss.

Gunnison barely beat Bayfield the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cowboys breezed past the Wolverines to the tune of 38-7 on Saturday. The Cowboys' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Salida played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Alamosa, falling 50-13. The Spartans have struggled against the Mean Moose recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Salida's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Gunnison, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Gunnison strolled past Salida in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a score of 43-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cowboys since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
