Softball Preview: Palmer Trinity Falcons vs. St. Brendan Sabres
The Palmer Trinity Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the St. Brendan Sabres at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Palmer Trinity has three straight wins, St. Brendan has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Thursday, Palmer Trinity made easy work of Mater Bay Academy and carried off a 9-1 victory. Considering the Falcons have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Kinsey Cerda was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Callie Crews also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, St. Brendan fell victim to Miami Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Victors.
St. Brendan saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rachel Rodriguez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.
Palmer Trinity's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for St. Brendan, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
Palmer Trinity came up short against St. Brendan in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 7-3. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
