Preview: Mossyrock Vikings vs. Wilbur-Creston-Keller Wildcats
Mossyrock has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Wilbur-Creston-Keller Wildcats at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Mossyrock's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last six matchups.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Mossyrock walked away with it. They took down Almira-Coulee-Hartline 46-30 on Saturday.
Easton Kolb continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 128 yards and five touchdowns, while also throwing for 98 yards and a touchdown on only seven passes. Zackary Munoz was another key contributor, gaining 106 total yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Wilbur-Creston-Keller put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Naselle 98-44 on the road. Considering Wilbur-Creston-Keller has won ten matchups by more than 19 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Kalub Dreger had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 401 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 22.3 yards per carry. Dreger is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last ten games he's played. Another player making a difference was Preston Michel, who rushed for 174 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry.
Mossyrock has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 10-1 record. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 8-1 Northwest Christian and 11-2 Naselle (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 58.8% over those games). As for Wilbur-Creston-Keller, their win bumped their record up to 11-0.
Saturday's game might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Mossyrock has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 269 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Wilbur-Creston-Keller struggles in that department as they've been even better at 417 per game. It's looking like Saturday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches. Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other football content.
