Basketball Game Preview: Smyer Bobcats vs. Seagraves Eagles

Smyer and Seagraves are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Smyer Bobcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Seagraves Eagles at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Smyer's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Seagraves has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Smyer had been on a four-game streak of scoring at least 55 points, but Whiteface put an end to it on Friday. Smyer had to suffer through a 61-17 loss at the hands of Whiteface. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 490th, while the Antelopes are ranked 96th).

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 61-10, which was the final score in Seagraves' tilt against Ropes on Friday.

Seagraves' loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Smyer, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-6.

Smyer beat Seagraves 40-33 in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Will Smyer repeat their success, or does Seagraves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
