Basketball Recap: Hillsborough Takes a Loss

Hillsborough was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 77-74 heartbreaker at the hands of the Brandon Eagles. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (73), the Terriers still had to take the loss.

Brandon got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Messiah McKinley out in front who posted 20 points. McKinley's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Charlie Pyron was another key player, putting up 20 points.

Hillsborough's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Brandon, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-13.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Hillsborough will take on East Bay on Monday. As for Brandon, they will welcome Middleton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
