Soccer Recap: Kennedy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Agricultural Science on Friday, Kennedy came back down to earth. While the 3-3 score might suggest a draw, it was the Lincoln Park Lions who were credited with the win on Monday. The Lincoln Park Lions got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Kennedy Crusaders' three. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Kennedy came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Lincoln Park are ranked 133rd).

Kennedy's defeat dropped their record down to 12-3-2. As for Lincoln Park, their record is now 9-6-5.

Coming up, Kennedy will take on Prosser at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lincoln Park, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Saint Ignatius College Prep at 5:00 p.m. on the 16th.
