Baseball Recap: North Delta Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact North Delta can now relate to. They fell just short of the Marshall Academy Patriots by a score of 8-7 on Tuesday. The Green Wave were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Patriots earlier this season, when they won 13-2.

Herron Williams was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Owens Johnson, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs.

North Delta moved to 23-11 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Marshall Academy, they pushed their record up to 26-10 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: North Delta beat the Patriots by a score of 11-5 on Wednesday.
