Baseball Game Preview: Cloverdale Clovers vs. Sullivan Golden Arrows

The Cloverdale Clovers will face off against the Sullivan Golden Arrows at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cloverdale has given up an average of 7.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cloverdale managed to slip by Eastern Greene the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Clovers came up short against the Thunderbirds on Monday, falling 16-3. The Clovers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cloverdale saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Duncan, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Sullivan entered their tilt with Vincennes Lincoln on Friday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They never let the Alices get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. Three seems to be a good number for the Golden Arrows as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Sullivan's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Cloverdale, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.
