Softball Recap: Pymatuning Valley Takes a Loss

Pymatuning Valley fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Maplewood on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 9-8. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rockets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-1 back in April.

McKenna Jordan was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Nataleigh Haines, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

The loss snapped Pymatuning Valley's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-5 record. As for Maplewood, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-3.

Pymatuning Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 5-0 win against Hubbard on the 10th. As for Maplewood, they have also already played their next matchup, a 4-1 defeat against Mathews on the 9th.
