Softball Game Preview: Lisle Lions vs. Yorkville Christian Mustangs

Lisle is on a five-game streak of home losses, and Yorkville Christian an 11-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Lisle Lions will be playing at home against the Yorkville Christian Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. Neither Lisle nor Yorkville Christian posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Lisle's offense. They came up short against Reed-Custer on Tuesday, falling 6-0.

McKenna Riley put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles.

Riley wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Madysen Cole, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Meanwhile, Yorkville Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Plano on Wednesday and fell 2-1.

Yorkville Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Lisle, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-16.
