Basketball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Cross Keys

Cross Keys waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Cumberland Academy of Georgia Cyclones 66-40. The Phoenix have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 26 points or more this season.

Cross Keys was led to victory by Dre Tucker and Joseph Ramirez. Tucker posted 16 points and four steals, while Ramirez earned 15 points and three steals. Tucker's evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Gustavo Cruz, who put up eight points.

Cross Keys is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Cumberland Academy of Georgia, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Cross Keys won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Howard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cumberland Academy of Georgia, they will venture away from home to square off against Cottage at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
