Football Game Preview: Branham Bruins vs. Christopher Cougars + How To Watch

The Branham Bruins will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Christopher Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Branham is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Branham and Leigh, and Leigh kept the tradition alive. The Bruins fell 31-27 to the Longhorns on Friday.

Despite the loss, Branham got top-tier performance from Michael Murphy, who rushed for 178 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 91 yards. Branham also got a significant boost from Andrew Ho, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 92 yards.

Meanwhile, Christopher scored first but ultimately less than Live Oak in their matchup on Thursday. They lost to the Acorns at home by a 35-17 margin. Surprisingly, this marked the Cougars' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Branham's record now sits at 5-5. As for Christopher, their record is now an identical 5-5.

Branham beat Christopher 26-14 when the teams last played back in October. Will the Bruins repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
