Volleyball Recap: North Mecklenburg Takes a Loss

North Mecklenburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hopewell Titans. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

While North Mecklenburg ultimately came up short, they really made Hopewell work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 27-25, 25-17, 22-25, 15-9.

Monta Moser paced North Mecklenburg's offense, picking up 25 kills. Moser got some help from Ryan Cook and his 35 assists. Cook was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.

North Mecklenburg's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Hopewell, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

North Mecklenburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hopewell, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Hough on the 1st.
