Basketball Recap: Stevenson Comes Up Short

After flying high against York last Thursday, Stevenson came back down to earth. The Stevenson Patriots took a hard 53-37 fall against the Prospect Knights on Saturday. The Patriots were not able to make up for their loss to the Knights from their previous meeting back in February of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Prospect to victory, but perhaps none more so than Allison Linke, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 18 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Linke a new career-high in blocks (six). Another player making a difference was Zoe Black, who posted 16 points and five boards.

Stevenson's defeat dropped their record down to 18-11. As for Prospect, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stevenson will square off against Warren Township at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Prospect, they will take on Fremd at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Fremd sitting on five straight wins and Prospect on four.
