Mundelein kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 42-13 defeat at the hands of the Grant Community Bulldogs. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.

Tyler Zdon had a dynamite game For Grant Community., rushing for 142 yards and three scores on only 14 carries, while also picking up 75 receiving yards and one touchdown. Zdon showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 64 yards. Another player making a difference was Matthew Gipson, who threw for 262 yards and one TD while completing 75% of his passes.
