Softball Recap: Carroll's Loss Ends Ten-Game Winning Streak at Home

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last four matches, Carroll finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They lost 9-0 to the Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial Eagles. The game marked the first time this season in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.

Carroll saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Benasia Ellison, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Jaslyn Yzaguirre also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Carroll's loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.

Coincidentally, Carroll and Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial will both be playing Miller the next time they take the field. Carroll will head out to face Miller at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
