Basketball Game Preview: River Valley Raiders vs. Vinton County Vikings

The River Valley Raiders will take on the Vinton County Vikings in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

River Valley fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Alexander on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 45-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Raiders have suffered since December 21, 2023.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 59 points the game before, Vinton County was a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They came up short against Logan, falling 48-25. The contest marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Vinton County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for River Valley, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-4.
