Basketball Game Preview: Nebraska City Pioneers vs. McCook Bison

Having just played yesterday, the Nebraska City Pioneers will jump right back in to play the McCook Bison at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Nebraska City will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Louisville, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Nebraska City managed a 32-26 victory over Louisville on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pioneers.

While McCook didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Ralston 63-13. That 50 point margin sets a new team best for the Bison this season.

McCook is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Nebraska City, their record is now 3-4.

Nebraska City suffered a grim 46-23 defeat to McCook when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Nebraska City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
