Volleyball Recap: Columbia Has No Trouble Against Lake Ridge Academy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Firelands, Columbia was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Lake Ridge Academy Royals. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Raiders yet this season.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Columbia was: they took every set by at least 15 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-7, 25-10.

Nadia Hritz was the offensive standout of the match as she had six aces and five digs. Those six aces gave her a new career-high.

Hritz wasn't the only good server: Columbia was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 24 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in five consecutive games.

The win got Columbia back to even at 3-3. As for Lake Ridge Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbia will take on Keystone at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Ridge Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Our Lady of the Elms at 6:00 p.m.
