Baseball Recap: Southern Wells Comes Up Short

Southern Wells and Cowan squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Southern Wells had to settle for second. They lost 10-0 to the Blackhawks. The Raiders were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blackhawks from their previous meeting back in May of 2019.

Southern Wells saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Southern Wells has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. As for Cowan, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-11.

Southern Wells does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cowan, they will take on Northfield at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Blackhawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Norsemen have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
