Volleyball Recap: DSST: Montview Takes a Loss

DSST: Montview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the KIPP Denver Collegiate White Tigers. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the White Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

DSST: Montview wouldn't go down easily and took KIPP Denver Collegiate into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 23-25, 22-25, 25-10, 15-12.

Abagail Yohannes paced DSST: Montview's offense, picking up 17 kills. Yohannes got some help from Jamie Ladner and her 31 assists. Sydney Connors controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

DSST: Montview's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for KIPP Denver Collegiate, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

DSST: Montview wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against DMLK on the 22nd. As for KIPP Denver Collegiate, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Vista PEAK Prep on the 22nd.
