Football Recap: Winnebago Skates Past Mahpiya Luta with Ease

Winnebago put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 55-22 win over the Mahpiya Luta Crusaders. That's more bragging rights for the Indians, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Winnebago to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adarius Flemister, who rushed for 123 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries, and also picked up 33 receiving yards. Flemister's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 123 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Raiden Decora, who gained 115 total yards and three touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Winnebago was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 211 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 211 rushing yards in three consecutive matches.

Winnebago's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Mahpiya Luta, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winnebago will venture away from home to square off against Todd County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians will need to watch out since the Falcons have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Mahpiya Luta, they will head out to challenge Little Wound at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
