Basketball Recap: Atlantic Shores Christian Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Atlantic Shores Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 36-25 victory over the Broadwater Academy Vikings on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Seahawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Broadwater Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leah Smith, who posted seven points and four steals. Smith has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last ten times she's played. Kacey Ford was another key player, putting up ten points.

Atlantic Shores Christian's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Broadwater Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Atlantic Shores Christian will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Greenbrier Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Broadwater Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Chincoteague at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
