Softball Game Preview: Rockford Auburn Knights vs. Freeport Pretzels

The Rockford Auburn Knights will square off against the Freeport Pretzels at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Rockford Auburn came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 21-2 to Belvidere North.

Rockford Auburn saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maylee Baker, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Freeport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against Belvidere North, falling 8-0.

Rockford Auburn's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Freeport, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.

Rockford Auburn took their win against Freeport in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Pretzels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
