Joshua Thurmon posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Saturday. He struck out 16 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). He was up against Southwind and has quite the history against that squad, as he also had a great game the last time he faced them back in March. Thurmon has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Thurmon and Memphis Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Overton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Wolverines thanks in part to Thurmon: he went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
