Basketball Recap: Montague Comes Up Short

Montague was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Fremont Packers and fell 71-40. The Wildcats lost against the Packers in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 49-42 score last time.

Montague's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Fremont, they moved to 2-4 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Montague will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Muskegon at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. North Muskegon will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Montague surely won't give up without a fight. Fremont will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Orchard View at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
